Bon, si cela n'est pas du gachis, je ne m'y connais pas...

Un proue arrière d'un Riva Ariston pour un vulgaire meuble Télé. Vu sur le stand de The Boat Watch Company. Bon heureusement, il y a également des annonces pour le Modèle Favori de votre serviteur, j'ai nommé le fameux Riva Ariston qui peut servir également de bateau pour naviguer sur des eaux calmes.

3 annonces, de 42 000 Euros à près de 110 000 Euros selon état, tous restaurés au sein des Chantiers Nicolas, gage d'une certaine qualité...

Grâce à notre fidèle lecteur, Thierry Sadivan, ingénieur aéronautique basé au Laos, Vintage Motors vous présente aujourd'hui un bel exemple de maquette d'Aquarama réalisée artisanalement à Saigon, VietNam !

Ces maquettes, de bien belle facture, comportent quelques interprétations locales. Elles se vendent là-bas à des prix très raisonnables. N'hésitez pas à nous laisser un commentaire ici, si vous êtes intéressés pour en faire importer en France.

Homemade Vintage Speedboat

Nous avons le plaisir aujourd'hui de vous montrer la réalisation de Thierry Sadivan, un de nos lecteurs habitant au Laos. Thierry, brillant ingénieur aéronautique et bricoleur hors pair, a réussi à se construire un propboat à l'image de ceux utilisés sur les marais de Floride et de Louisianne, à partir de pièces vintage de récupération !

Ainsi, la coque est un élément de ponton mobile de l'US Army et le moteur est de la même origine. Ces éléments ont aparament été "oubliés" par les GI basés dans le sud-est asiatique durant les années 60... En effet, le 383 Chrysler a servi auparavant à motoriser un transporteur de troupes blindé M113 !

L'hélice mesure 2 m de diamètre et provient d'un petit avion monomoteur. Thierry met en ce moment au point les divers réglages du big block, ce qui n'est pas facile, car le diamètre de l'hélice limite le régime maimal à 3000 tours/minute, sous peine de voir les pointes des pâles passer le mur du son ! L'objectif est de glisser à plus de 80 km/h sur les superbes deltas des fleuves laotiens ! Bravo Thierry, nous saluons une telle prouesse, qui de surcroit est 100% vintage !

Riva Historical Society

The Riva Historical Society came into being in 1998. It is a non profit-making organisation whose members are its founders and the clubs or departments set up under its aegis in various countries.

It was founded by Architect Piero Mario Gibellini along with Carlo Riva and a group of friends with the purpose of saving existing Riva boats, helping the owners to conserve them in the best possible way, in terms of their originality and encouraging regular maintenance of them.
The second purpose is to register them in a special International Historical Register because they constitute an asset to Italian nautical history and because Riva boats hold an important position in international nautical culture.
Another purpose of the RHS is to protect the trademark "Riva Days" chosen by Carlo Riva for the more important gatherings of Riva Vintage and Classic Boats and, within the gatherings promote competitions, respecting the age of the boats. In fact, the gatherings have turned out to be an imperative showcase because of the sight of the Rivas themselves is an irresistible attraction for all enthusiasts, in addition to a great incentive to restoring and maintaining them.

The RHS is recognised also by Cantiere Riva (the Riva Boatyard), as a federation of the non-profit-making clubs and societies which have signed the Statutes and who are members of it along with the Founder members and Senators.
It is a member of FIM - CONI and of the UIM and is affiliated to the ACBS the Antique and Classic Boat Society, the association of vintage motor boats of North America and it is twinned with the French association, Cercle du Motonautisme Classique.

Navig'Aix 2004

Du 26 au 29 Aout 2004 au Grand Port, Navig’aix et la magie des bateaux anciens s’installent cette année encore, au Grand Port d’Aix-les-Bains, autour du thème «la Vénétie ». Une centaine de canots venus des 4 coins d’Europe feront salon dans nos bassins.

Cet événement aura pour vedettes : AILE VI, le 8MJ qui donna la victoire à la France lors des JO de 1928, DUNO, Runabout hollandais construit en 1916 et utilisé par la Royal Rowing et Selling Club de Mass à Rotterdam durant la seconde guerre mondiale, et aussi YAMINA, Runabout construit en 1931, 8,5 m et 86 CV.

Egalement au programme une concentration de Runabout Riva, avec les modèles les plus representatifs de la gamme, tels les Riva Aquarama, Riva Ariston, Riva Florida...

Concessionaire Riva à Saint-Tropez

Un des rares concessionaires Riva en France, voire le seul, c'est Spormer à Saint-Tropez. Situé tout prêt du parking du Port, ils s'occupent de votre Riva (plutot des Aquarama quand on voit le ponton !), le prépare pour une petite ballade et passent la peau de chamois une fois l'aller retour effectué avec une des plages de pampelonne ;-)

Selon nos informations, avec Monaca Boat Service, ce sont les 2 seuls concessionaires agréés en France, si vous en connaissez d'autres, merci de nous faire signe.
