Our Torino project was a bit halted due to the summer holidays. It is now on the road again with a fresh 351W and an overhauled C4. The C4 has a fully manual valve body and a 2000 rpm stall converter. A HURST Quarter Stick shifter allows to select the gears as with any nowadays tiptronic ! It shifts very firmly and despite reving only to 3000 rpm with part throttle, we can feel that the engine and tranny combination have a lot of potential. For the time being, only the front throttle bores of the 800 cfm double pumper are hooked up. It will be fully unleashed after the first 500 miles running in.
It was quite a headache to fit the tubular exhaust headers, but thanks to Joe Torch and Jack Hammer, our most faithfull tools, they fit ! Now the igniton wires and the other little stuff, like the fuel line, need to be sorted out.
As you might notice, the paint scheme, designed by french customizing artist Ivan Brossard, is now completely done. Next in line are some NASCAR type fender stickers and of course, the final engine setup. We will also go for a radiator overhaul and the addition of a small heater for the colder days.
Stay tuned for the first track outing with the new 351W engine, coming soon !
